Musica Sanae Day 2

Day 2 of Musica Sanae Berlin is located at the Museum Kesselhaus Herzberge, a unique building situated on the grounds of the historical and still functioning psychiatric hospital, Evangelisches Krankenhaus Königin Elisabeth Herzberge.

Musica Sanae is a research-based art project dedicated to intersections of sound and medicine which hosts musicians, artists, performers, researchers and theorists who present their takes on how new ways of hearing produce and underlie our notions of hygiene, health, well-being, progress and sanity. Following iterations in Naples and Sokolowsko, this 3-day edition is the final in the series.

Agf HYDRA – conducts and performs a durational immersive installation focused on accessible technological tools. A healing womb for self-birth. A regenerating ritual.

LABOUR consider constructs of sanity and the power relations that produce and validate them through a dynamic set of sonic journeys and an expanded sense of space.

Evelyn Bencicova exhibits a series of visual work based on hysteria and the psychological construction of self.

Rumpsti Pumsti curates film & video works, including pieces by Marcellvs L., Marc Zeier and more.

Anthony Pateras sculpts auditory hallucinations (pseudacusis) in electro-acoustic ensemble form with Tiziana Bertoncini, Lucio Capece, Riccardo La Foresta, Gerard Lebik, Mike Majkowski & Chiara Mallozzi.

Félicia Atkinson presents Hedera Helix, a piece about plants, healing, architecture and ruins.

Erik Bünger presents Aglossostomography,a lecture-performance on how to speak without a tongue.

Fredrik Olofsson creates an installation of flickering fields of light; when experienced with closed eyelids they create imagery that question perception, brain function and sanity.

Musica Sanae is presented in Berlin by N.K. and In Situ Foundation, curated by Farahnaz Hatam, Colin Hacklander and Michal Libera. This project is made possible through the generous support of the Kulturstiftung des Bundes.
