Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum (GMF) 2017 // Identity and Diversity

The Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum (GMF) is the Place Made for Minds, where decision makers and influencers from all over the world come together. It’s the global platform put on by Deutsche Welle and its partners and the place where you can connect and strengthen relations with over 2,000 inspiring representatives from the fields of journalism, digital media, politics, culture, business, development, academia and civil society. The conference provides a unique opportunity to network, get inspired and collaborate using a wide variety of state-of-the-art formats.

Achievements of the Conference

The main goal of the conference is to create relations money can’t buy. It aims at developing solutions and creating ideas on media trends, foreign policy and their impact on helping overcome the challenges of global development.

General thematic approach

The GMF is dedicated to looking at various topics from the fields of foreign policy, future of the media and freedom of expression as well as sustainable development and creative industries and their relation to each annual focus theme. Each year, we select a relevant special focus theme from a particular area of interest. The theme for 2017 will be “Identity and Diversity”.

International Journalism Festival 2017

What is the International Journalism Festival (IJF)?
The biggest annual media event in Europe. The 2016 festival had 259 sessions and 549 speakers in the 5-day programme.

When and where does IJF take place?
Every April in Perugia, Italy. All IJF venues are situated in the stunning setting of the historic town centre of Perugia. The next festival (the eleventh edition) will be from 05 to 09 April 2017.

I want to attend IJF; what must I do?
Nothing. Just come to Perugia and enjoy the festival. All IJF sessions are free entry for all attendees, without any need for registration.
